2018 Recap

Happy Friday everyone! December is the perfect time for self-reflection as we are all preparing for the New Year to arrive. I have so much to look back on and to be thankful for with 2018 coming to a close. Here’s a little recap of my 2018 just in case you missed it:

11 ½  months ago on a rainy day in January, I stumbled across a very wet and very dirty little creature roaming the busy streets of Oakland. Sad, scared and cold, I called for the little thing and it ran right up to me with it’s tail wagging! To my surprise it was a dog, and without hesitation I picked it up and immediately dropped all plans so that I could get this pup cleaned-up and fed. Upon washing the lost pup, I discovered “it” was in fact a girl, and a very cute little girl at that! One hour into rescuing this little girl and I was already so in love with her sweet disposition and bright brown eyes! My next quest with the dog, now known as Bristol (named after the street I found her on), was to find her owner. Since she was collar-less, I took her to a local vet to see if she was chipped.  Now 2 hours into rescuing Bristol, I found myself with fingers crossed hoping that the people who owned her weren’t responsible enough to chip her as I was already so obsessed with her and saddened by the idea of not having this sweet soul in my world. It turned out that Bristol was in fact chipped. My heart dropped into my stomach! The idea of giving this little girl back to her owner wasn’t’ something I was ready to do, but I did what was right. I reached out to her rightful owners to let them know that I found their little one and was ready to meet them in order to get Bristol back home. Well, it turns out that her owners were two incredibly busy people who didn’t have enough time for sweet little Bristol! Once I found this out, I immediately asked the couple if I could adopt her and the rest was history. I rescued an adorable Terri-Poodle from the streets of Oakland and have been head over heels in love with her since then! Having Bristol has brought so much joy into my world and I can’t quite remember what life was like before she was in it!

A few months after rescuing Bristol my life got SO much fuller! Liam, B and I took a our first family hike in SF to Lands End Trail, and there Liam proposed to me on the beach with just our little family of 3 present. After 6 ½ years of dating I became a very shaky, excited,  and crying me before responding to Liam (the one whom my heart still skips a beat for every time I see him) with a “YES!”. Liam and I tied the knot this December in beautiful Carmel Valley, California at Holman Ranch with all of our favorite people there to witness our union. The day was absolutely perfect! To say that I am excited about spending the rest of my life with Liam is an understatement – forever is a very long time, but not enough when it comes to loving him!

I can wholeheartedly say that 2018 was one for the books! I am so looking forward to what 2019 has in-store for me, my blog and little family 🙂
