Chaya Bed & Breakfast… A Little Slice Of Heaven In Mexico City

This year, Liam and I celebrated our 6 year anniversary in Mexico City, MX because Liam just so happened to have a work trip there the same week we had set aside to celebrate. So we both agreed to jump on the opportunity to try something new in a city that is full of so much culture and history. After hours/days of researching + looking into Mexico City travel, we quickly fell in love with each and every article we found, and every pin we (I) pinned on Pinterest. If there was one thing that Liam and I wanted more than gifts or material things, it was simply to spend quality 1:1 time with one another – and that’s exactly what we did!

Liam usually likes to do most, if not all, of the planning for our anniversaries (what a guy  😉 ), but I wanted to switch things up this year and be more involved with the planning process and he agreed without hesitation! All I asked was that I be the one to lock-in a hotel, and boy did I find us a gem at Chaya Bed & Breakfast Boutique.

Located in Mexico City’s Historic Center, Chaya is a bohemian rooftop bed & breakfast overlooking Parque Alameda Oficial and is in walking distance to hip eateries, shops and some of the cities most epic rooftop bars! The property itself was purchased by the owner from a family friend and was restored with a bed and breakfast in mind. With several levels of pop-up shops below it and a terrace bar above the 10 room B&B, this boho-chic heaven was the perfect remedy for some quality 1:1 and relaxation time with Liam in celebration of 6 amazing years together.

Within the b&b there were crafts and gifts to buy from local artisans which made it fun to shop for family and friends. I could have easily taken home every one of the hats being sold there too!

The staff at Chaya made Liam and I feel incredibly special during every moment of our stay! Our favorite memory would have to be on our last night at Chaya. When we arrived back at our hotel after a long day of exploring the city in the rain, we opened our hotel room only to be greeted by bottle of wine and a personalized note wishing us “a very happy 6 year anniversary!”. We were so grateful to walk “home” to this that we decided to slip into robes and chat over a bottle of wine while watching the rain fall outside. We topped off the evening with some cuddling + a movie. Just a little more of that 1:1 time we were so looking forward to on this little getaway!

Another thing that Liam and I loved so much about staying at this b&b was the traditional Mexican breakfast served every morning before we went out to explore. The staff would prepare the meals for everyone who joined in the morning, and we all got to eat with one another while sitting at properties amazing live wood table.

This dreamy little rooftop spot made it hard for Liam and I to want to leave Mexico. The property felt like a little slice of heaven in Mexico City catered entirely to our needs! From the tranquil rooms to the spa like vibes felt around the property, I couldn’t help but be in “awe” of the gorgeous rooftop B&B with its lush succulents, hanging plants, hammocks for lounging and nooks with tables and chairs for hanging out. Oh, and I can’t forget about the awesome views around every corner! We are definitely planning on returning to visit this dreamy escape next time we find ourselves in Mexico City – especially when I think about the wonderfully relaxing memories we created during this visit!

For every like, click and view I get on Instagram, Facebook and Brilliantly Bre, I will be donating $1.00 to Fondo Unido México – an organization that gives back to the communities in Mexico impacted by the recent earthquake. Please help me in supporting those who need a helping hand – every little bit counts! ?

Thank you Chaya Bed & Breakfast for sponsoring this post!
