Hiking Through The Redwoods
This weekend, my babe (Liam) and I took a drive to Sonoma to relax and pick up a bottle of my favorite almond champagne from Muscardini Cellars – a must try if you’re in the area! After an afternoon of wine tasting and food, we hopped on over to our go-to hotel (The Double Tree by Hilton in Rohnert Park) for a night of relaxation and sleep. Early the next morning, we took a beautiful scenic drive to Guerneville, CA – a cute little town located on the Russian River that’s surrounded by mighty redwood trees and beautiful landscape.
Ah, Guerneville! How I love your cute boutique hotels, delicious restaurants, one-of-a-kind shops and amazing outdoor activities :). I’d previously visited this quant little town during one of my girlfriend’s bachelorette parties a few years back and immediately knew that I had to visit again – it only took me 2 years, but I was so happy to be back!
If you ever find yourself in the area, you must visit Armstrong Redwoods State Natural Reserve. This particular park is known for it’s amazing hiking trials that take you on lush trails and horseback riding adventures throughout the redwood groves of California. And as an SF “native” I suggest skipping the hustle of Muir Woods and drive a few more miles to this amazing park where the trails are hushed and the air is crisp.
